Here’s a little money saving tip for your next trip to Starbucks. (or your favorite coffee house). If you’re like me and take cream in your coffee and you usually get your coffee ‘with room’ (less coffee poured into the cup to allow room for cream), try ordering the next size down in the same cupsize you normally get.
Like this: “I’ll take a tall Pike Place in a grande cup, please”
The barista will then fill the grande (medium) cup up to just about an inch below the rim, but the charge is only for the tall (small) size. For me, this usually gets just the right amount of coffee in my cup without having to pay for extra air at the top of the cup. This saves me a quarter ($.25, every little bit helps) per cup, on average (prices vary a little depending on what Starbucks I’m at, the ones in the airport really gouge you).
